European Politics
My interest in European politics became apparent when I was at school, when I organised and moderated discussion events with Members of the European Parliament at school and took part in trips to promote European understanding. I learned several foreign languages to be able to communicate during my travels: English, French, Spanish and, when I lived in Ireland, Irish.
While studying Philosophy and Media Informatics, I was a keen participant in the committees of the University of Bremen. I joined the Erasmus program as a student in Ireland and made many connections there.
Kids, Youth and Parents
I began my activism in Berlin focusing in the area of children, youth and family in 2014 when I joined the support association of my children’s daycare centre, where I was treasurer for many years.
From 2016, I was on the district parents’ committee for daycare centres in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf and a delegate to the Berlin State Parents’ Committee for Daycare Centres (LEAK).
From 2018 to 2021 I was Chairwoman of the LEAK Berlin and delegate to the Federal Parents‘ Representation Kita (BEVKi).
There I enjoyed press work, networking and participation in the ‘Gute-Kita-Gesetz’ protest as part of the Childcare Day 2020 and organisation of the digital symposium ‘Gemeinsam Kita Gestalten’ 2021.
Since 2018, I have been organising children’s bike demos in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf #KidicalMass. In cooperation with neighbours, I campaigned for parklets, pavement rain barrels and neighbourhood beautification.
For the Green Party
In 2009 I supported the Irish Green Party’s local election campaign for Drogheda in County Louth, Ireland.
I have been a member of the Green Party in Germany since 2016 –
- Participation in the net policy congress #NK16 – For an ethics of the digital society of the Greens and 5th Camp Netzbegrünung in Berlin
- Basic academy of all federal working groups 2019 at Werbellinsee
- Presentation on the topic of daycare centres and families at the Green Future Day of Urban Society 2020
- Active in the Children, Youth and Family working group in Berlin and deputy delegate to the KiJuFa working group
- Active in the transport working group in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf
I have been a member of the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf District Assembly #BVVChaWi since 2021: Delegate to the Transport Committee, Mobility Council and Audit Committee as well as deputy member of the Youth Welfare Committee; I am also spokesperson for mobility and spokesperson for schools in the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen district parliamentary group.
